The Dunkirk Hotel, a historic landmark located in Sydney's Pyrmont area, has been serving as the go-to spot for locals since 1879. Initially named the Butcher's Arms Hotel, it was later renamed in the 1940s to honor The Battle of Dunkirk.
Recently, in 2020/2021, the hotel underwent its first renovation in 17 years, including significant upgrades to the cellar, Main Bar, Garden Bar, Pool Room, and a new TAB Room. Additionally, a new VIP Lounge was added to the front of the hotel on Harris Street. The hotel's bottleshop has also received an upgrade and now features an extensive selection of beer, spirits, wine, sparkling, and champagne.
In July 2021, the Dunkirk Hotel launched its newly refurbished boutique hotel accommodation, which now includes two floors and 12 rooms featuring beautifully renovated king, queen, family, double single, and single options with both ensuite and shared bathroom options. Recently, the hotel's facade underwent a complete 1930s restoration, reaffirming the Dunkirk's proud heritage-listed status.
